A Capital Project is a project with a cost exceeding $5,000 to acquire or improve an asset with an anticipated life of more than one year. Capital Projects can include land acquisition, construction, repair or structural improvement of a facility, engineering and design for a facility, and purchase or repair of equipment.
Funding that is designated for Capital Projects is prohibited for use in day to day operations including driver’s and mechanic’s salaries, fuel or other costs associated with running a transit service.
