Important Notice:

Student Bus Pass Program Ends June 30, 2011

The student bus pass will not be available starting with the 2011-12 school year.  In a surprise decision, the 2011 Oregon legislature eliminated funding for student bus pass programs through Business Energy Tax Credit (BETC) effective June 30, 2011.  We apologize for the short notice. We understand that losing the bus pass will be a hardship for some families.

The Cherriots bus pass program was funded by BETC the through the Oregon Department of Energy.  It allowed thousands of middle and high school students to ride Cherriots to school and activities every day.  The goal of the program was to reduce traffic around local schools by encouraging more students to ride a bus to school and other destinations.

Cherriots service will continue to operate.   Service to schools will not change.  It is too early to predict if future service will be affected.

Youth Fares

Youth 18 and under can purchase monthly passes for $28.00.  A youth day pass is $2.50 and a single ride is $1.25.  11-ride punch cards are available for $12.50.  The punch card is a good choice if you only ride Cherriots occasionally, since it doesn’t expire.  For more information on Cherriots fares, visit the Fares page.
